Coding in Hollywood
News of a friend's recent engagement took the edge off the futility of corporate software development today. Instead, I offer a product of one of my long-lost fanciful moments.
The cherry cola and desserts, The ludicrously shortened skirts On waitresses who beam and smile (Although they know that, all the while, They only have to make one slip Before we will reduce their tip).
I studied Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at Oxford University. I subsequently pursued my love of computing as a programmer analyst, mainly in the London investment banking world (credit derivatives). My current interest is trying to understand why crap people are allowed to produce crap software over and over again.

That's as maybe, but what about all the water the US is stealing from the Mexicans?
Let them drink Oreo milkshakes.
What is this life if, without care, we have no time to stop at Ruby's?
No time to eat the endless fries
And munch the golden apple pies.

The ludicrously shortened skirts
On waitresses who beam and smile
(Although they know that, all the while,
They only have to make one slip
Before we will reduce their tip).
